Mission Statement
Cheatham County Schools have a unified commitment to promote physical,emotional, and intellectual excellence.

Vision
The Cheatham County School System expects success through the implementation of the Beliefs and Mission Statement to build productive citizens to guide our students for the future.

Strategic Goals
Goal 1: ACT
Cheatham County ACT scores will increase by .3 in the ACT Composite score, English score, Math score, and reading score as measured on the 2008 Cheatham County Report Card 3 year average for ACT.
Goal 2: Language Arts
In grades 3 – 8, the percentage of students scoring proficient/advanced in Language Arts in all subgroups will meet/exceed the NCLB target of 89% with an increase of 2% proficient/advanced in all subgroups.
In grades 9 – 12, the percentage of students scoring proficient/advanced in Language Arts in all subgroups will meet or exceed the NCLB target of 93% with an increase of 2% proficient/advanced in all subgroups.

Goal 3: Math
In grades 3 – 12, the percentage of students scoring proficient/advanced in Math in all subgroups will meet/exceed the NCLB target of 86% with an increase of 2% proficient/advanced in all subgroups.
Goal 4: TVAAS
Cheatham County will meet or exceed state AYP goals in all subjects to reflect a minimum of a year’s growth as measured on the TCAP/Gateway tests. A specific focus will be given to improve TVAAS score in Math from a B to an A as measured by the 3 year average on the Cheatham County Report Card.
Goal 5A: Graduation Rates
Continue to meet or exceed the target graduation rate as a district and at each individual school to meet the additional indicator for AYP of 90% graduation rate by 2013-2014. Increase the graduation rate to meet or exceed 89.50% in the subgroups of males, African Americans, and Hispanic students.
Goal 5B: Career Technical Education Program
In the CTE program, improve the actual performance level to meet or exceed the negotiated performance level in core indicator 4S2 Completion Non-Traditional Student and improve status from B to A.
Goal 6: Highly Qualified Teachers
All core subjects required by NCLB will be taught by highly qualified teachers. Cheatham County will increase highly qualified percentage from 97.60 to 100%.
