Student Board Representatives Receive Training !
Student Board Representatives for the 2008-09 school year participated in training provided by former Board members Susan Greer and Barry Breen. The training focused on the duties of a school board member and an overview of the school system. These fine young students are key to providing a student prospective to all board decisions.

District Employee Advocacy Committee

The DEAC has been formed to allow and encourage employees to ask questions and receive factual answers. The committee, made up of an employee from each school, will meet monthly. Minutes from their August meeting are available by clicking here. Their next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 9th. Special Called Meeting on Sept 7, 2008 !
Members of the Cheatham County Board of Education will be meeting at CCCHS at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2008. The exact location is on the road behind the softball field. The sole purpose of the meeting is to ask questions and walk along a proposed easement change adjacent to the property. There will be no deliberation as to a course of action. This is simply to review a proposed course of action.

Special Called Meeting, Today August 26th !
There will be a special called meeting of the Cheatham County Board of Education on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Educational Annex Building. The Board will consider the negotiated items for the 2008-2009 teacher contract .
Blue Books Arrive!
Dianne Williams, Middle School Supervisor, takes delivery of state Blue Books from Representative Philip Johnson with the help of Walter Diegmueller and Jerry Bourg of the maintenance department. Each year Blue Books are sent to elementary schools to use with their 4th grade students. |

| Cheatham County Schools bids a fond farewell to outgoing School Board Chairman Barry Breen and Vice-Chair Susan Greer. Mr. Breen has served on the Board for four years. Mrs. Greer has served for ten years. Their leadership and dedication to the children of Cheatham County is much appreciated |

Graduates of Youth Leadership Cheatham County were honored at a dinner Saturday, July 12, 2008. As a service project, the group presented a check to Pens and Parcels. This organization provides care packages to our servicemen and women in Iraq.The following graduates and business sponsors were recognized: (left to right) business sponsor Christy Capps, graduate Sam Womack, business sponsor Elke McLeroy, graduate Jake Simms, graduate Kayla Williams, graduate Rebecca Lampley, graduate Leslie Batts, graduateMatt Taylor, youth sponsor Dana Austin, and business sponsor John Mayfield.
